Customer Review: Fun little camera
I’ve had this camera for a month, and purchased it after my Lumix FZ20 died in the cold. The FZ20 was a very good camera with a 12X zoom, so when I saw the FZ18 with 18X zoom, I purchased it. The camera is very light compared to my old one, and the using the Swiss Army camera bag I have I simple strap it to my belt for my motorcycle and bicycle rides. It’s so light I don’t even notice it. The zoom is what really makes this camera fun. I’ve reduced the image size to 5 mega pixel to increase the zoom to 23X. Doing that I’m able to shoot images of birds and other wildlife from quite a long distance away. On a recent hike I was able to shoot several images of some Red Fox pups at play from quite a long distance. I would have never been able to get close to them, so the 23X zoom is what enabled me to get the shots. I haven’t played with the many different settings in the menu yet and have just been using the intelligent auto mode which works great. For the price this is a good bang for the buck. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Best thing you can get that isn’t an SLR.
I purchased this camera from Amazon around February and it is fantastic. Given about a 30 minute learning curve, it’s a very easy camera to use. The only negative I could find would be the digital noise in some low-level light pictures. But this is what you will mostly find in any good zoom camera in these conditions. [...] That is one of the BEST review sites for Digital Cameras. I also have the Nikon E15ED telephoto lens for it. This requires step rings to install properly, but is a great addition (if you can find one). Check out my pictures I added to Amazon. I am not a great photographer, but this camera makes great shots a heck of a lot easier!
