Customer Review: Good Product
Xitel INport Deluxe does work well and is very simple to set up and use. My problem was the input from the older stereo I was using it on was at too high a level and causing distortion. It would have been useful to have some adjustable attenuation built into the interface. I ended up running the cables through an old Radio Shack audio mixer which knocked the signal down to an acceptable level.

I am hanging onto this useful device. I think it is very straight forward and useable by most people with a basic knowledge of PC and audio (like, how to plug it all together and install the software). However, if I had it to do over I would have bought a less expensive interface (USB external sound card) and purchased Roxio and a mixer to have more flexibility.
Customer Review: If No Sound, Read On….
The product is very easy to use with easy instructions but I was having a problem getting sound from the files I was creating from the product. I won’t give the product a bad rating because I believe the product does what it says. Tech support however is another story.

Anyway, I had done just what the manual had suggested and checked my volume settings, cable and equipment settings a million times!

Unfortunately ALL of my cassette players have only 1 set(pair) and not 2 sets of RCA jacks. They are labled on my cassette player as: CD/Line Input Jacks(CD/Line In). That was the problem! While I have In-Line for the computer, I needed Line-Out for the cassette players! All my cassette players only have Line-In, so the Xitel product will not work. Unless, you want to buy another cassette player with dual RCA jacks.

Anyway, I reluctantly returned Xitel because it did not support my cassette players due to lack of Line-Out RCA jacks. I only had one set of RCA jacks (red and white) and that was for the Line-In.

SOLUTION: I had to buy an audio cable with 1/8 miniplugs on each end, one to plug into the Line-In(blue slot) on the computer and the other minipug to plug into the headphone slot in the cassette player. IT WORKED!!!! Now I am finally getting SOUND!
