Only two complaints. The blue was $12 cheaper than the green - I’d have rather gotten the Wasabi Green one but didn’t feel it truly justfied th extra $. And the shutter keeps accidently sliding open in my purse, and I have to be very careful when inserting it in my camera case for the same reason. Could use some sort of “Latch.”

I had F40fd camera and them F50fd. F40 was better than F50, but just a little bit. Now I bought F100fd and very happy. It’s much better than F40 and F50 (image quality, zoom, etc) and I’m almost sure this camera will serve me for years…

Let me say right off the bat that I’m an owner of a previous F-series camera, the F31fd. I love that camera but I wanted the image stabilization and the wider wide-angle, which the F31 doesn’t have.

It’s just an awful camera that is packaged to sell, but takes poor photos and is difficult to use. The LCD screen on the back is tiny and grainy. The pictures are dark and blurry. The lens on the front is not covered and so can be scratched. Spend a little more and get a camera that you will actually want to use.
Customer Review: Absolutely hideous & useless
This is literally the worst camera I’ve ever encountered. My friend bought a super-cheap keychain camera for her young daughter, and THAT took better pictures. The color is horrible — no depth whatsoever. The flash is extremely eager — I took pictures of a green blanket on a black background under a light ( a situation that worked wonderfully with my FujiFilm), and it looked as if the camera just cut out the object entirely and left a pure white shape where the blanket was. Pictures without the flash are completely dark. But the kicker is that when you push the button to take the picture, a screen comes up to say “Photo taking. Hold camera still” and then it’s a good 6-8 seconds before it actually TAKES the picture. And the buttons are plastic painted to look like metal.
Frankly, I can’t believe any company could produce something so bad.

Ergonomically its superb for vertically composed shooting. Feels solid and sturdy. For travel in remote areas where power outlets are scarce the 6 AA battery option addresses that issue, this is the main reason I purchased the grip. As far as ruggedness goes, I’m taking it back to Alaska this summer and down to Nicaragua so I’ll update this post after I return. The camera feels significantly more sturdy and “balanced” with the grip attached when used with the 24-70mm f2.8L and 70-200mm F2.8. For situations where discretion is required, the extra size can be initimidating for you potential subjects. The price seems a little steep.

I think the grip is a necessity. It changes the whole feel and balance of the camera for the better. You also have the advantage of running off of two batteries with twice the shoot time without changing. Over $200 for a glorified battery holder with 50 cents worth of electronics is tough to accept. There are Chinese knock-offs that are half the price but I guess if you are going to spend over 2 grand for the 5D camera another couple of hundred for the Canon name (quality?) should not even be a concern..

This was the recommended Canon camera case for my SX100IS. It fits the camera perfectly. For those complaining that it doesn’t have extra pockets for spare batteries & SD Cards this is NOT a camera gear bag! If that’s what you want then look elsewhere. If you just need a quality camera case for your Canon digital camera then this will fit the bill.
