Customer Review: Great Phone Except…..
I would give this phone a five star if it only had a short antenna. However as far as function is concerned this is an excelent phone.
It is one of the few phones with a back light for the key pad, and this is very handy as I am usually in a dim lit room watching T.V. or in bed when I want to dial. The sound and volume are great and the speaker phone is very good as well. This is a very well built phone and would recommend it to anyone. The Range of signal is very good as I can walk down the block with mine. The only thing I would recommend is to invest in the Energizer ER-P511 NiMH rechrgeable battery because the one it is shipped with will not hold a charge for more than two or three days.

The NiCad battery that’s included with the handset didn’t last for very long, but I replaced them with the NiMh HHR-P402 from Panasonic, which lasts and lasts. Note: when you buy an additional handset to the Panasonic KX-TG5100M base unit, you have to place it in cradle on the base unit for a few moments (assuming the new handset’s battery has been fully charged!) in order for the base unit to “recognize” the new handset.
